Lynne Bowker, cross-appointed professor at the University of Ottawa’s School of Translation and Interpretation and School of Information Studies, is the newest Researcher-in-Residence at Concordia University Library in Montreal where she will be directing a project on Machine Translation Literacy. As part of this project, she will conduct research with non-anglophone student and faculty participants from Concordia to better understand how they are engaging with machine translation in the context of scholarly communication. | Lynne Bowker, professeure à double affection à l’École de traduction et d’interprétation et à l’École des sciences de l’information de l’Université d’Ottawa, est la nouvelle Chercheure-en-résidence aux Bibliothèques de l’Université Concordia à Montréal où elle va diriger un projet qui porte sur l’acquisition des compétences en traduction automatique (« littératie » en traduction automatique). Dans le cadre de ce projet, elle mènera des recherches avec des étudiants et des professeurs non anglophones de Concordia afin de mieux comprendre comment ils utilisent les systèmes de traduction automatique pour traduire les communications savantes. |
