Hard to believe we are already halfway through 2019. As usual, AILIA has been busy on various fronts:

• AILIA is hosting the ISO TC37 Meeting in Ottawa from June 23^rd to 28^th. This has been a huge undertaking and I would like to take this opportunity to thank the AILIA Members that have supported the event by sponsoring and/or sending attendees. This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase Canada and the Canadian Language Industry to the world.  Maryse Benhoff and her team have worked tirelessly for almost a year to put this meeting together.

• We will be announcing shortly Association Partner Programs with two of our Sponsors which will provide AILIA members with discounts for industry leading CAT tools and related software.  

• AILIA will have two representatives on the soon to be launched Translation Bureau Industry Advisory Committee

• We will be announcing shortly plans for the 2019 AILIA AGM, which we are expecting to coincide with the TAUS Global Content Summit being held Ottawa (November 14^th).

Difficile à croire, mais voilà déjà la moitié de l’année écoulée. Fidèle à ses habitudes, l’AILIA s’est activée sur plusieurs fronts :

• La réunion internationale du TC/CT 37 de l’ISO, organisée par l’AILIA, aura lieu à Ottawa du 23 au 28 juin. Cette organisation a nécessité beaucoup d’efforts, et je tiens à remercier les membres de l’AILIA d’avoir appuyé l’événement à titre de commanditaires ou de participants délégués. Cette réunion constitue une occasion formidable de mettre en valeur le Canada et son industrie de la langue sur la scène internationale. Maryse Benhoff et son équipe ont travaillé sans relâche pendant presque un an à l’organisation de cet événement.

• Nous annoncerons sous peu le lancement de programmes pour partenaires de l’Association, en collaboration avec deux de nos commanditaires, en vertu desquels nos membres pourront acheter des outils de TAO de pointe et des logiciels connexes à prix réduit. 

• L’AILIA comptera deux représentants au Comité consultatif des représentants de l’industrie du Bureau de la traduction, qui sera bientôt mis sur pied.

• Nous annoncerons d’ici peu les plans de notre AGA de 2019, que nous prévoyons tenir en même temps que l’événement TAUS Global Content Summit le 14 novembre, à Ottawa.

AILIA is hosting the 2019 ISO TC 37 International Meetings

The ISO TC 37 International Meetings are happening this week in Ottawa. 

The meetings are hosted by AILIA (the Canadian Language Industry Association) and the Standards Council of Canada (SCC), and co-hosted by the University of Ottawa. Language experts from over 60 countries are expected to attend.

Les réunions internationales du CT 37 de l'ISO se tiendront cette semaine à Ottawa.

Les réunions sont organisées par l'AILIA (l'Association de l'industrie de la langue) et le Conseil canadien des normes (CCN), avec la participation de l'Université d'Ottawa. Nous nous attendons à ce que des experts langagiers de plus de 60 pays participent à ce grand événement.
